CLIMBING WALL INSTRUCTOR

As a Rock Climbing Instructor, you will provide excellent customer service and climbing instruction to all levels of climbers during assigned lesson programming. All lessons and supervision geared toward the general public and various levels of skill.

Encourage individuals to push their personal comfort zones and physical fitness. Monitor rock wall area to ensure safety of all climbers and provide general instruction on climbing techniques in a fun, enthusiastic, and safe environment during Open Wall and group events.

Essential Responsibilities

• Arrive on time, clock in, and report to Operations Manager and Wall Supervisor for assignment.
• Provide excellent customer service to climbers of all skill levels and promote positive and encouraging climbing experience.
• Facilitate climbing orientation and certification to novice and first time climbers during individual, group and summer camp sessions.
• Teach and assist with proper fit of equipment, how to tie in, how to belay with a GriGri, teach safety check, dialogue and communicate with climbers when needed.
• Belay individual climbers as needed.

• Able to work with children.
• Must obtain Lakeshore Sport and Fitness climbing certification.
• Must be personable and outgoing.
• Previous experience and skills with climbing is a must.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED

- Six months to one year climb ing experience (indoors or out)

- Previous indoor or outdoor climbing gym work experience

- Six months experience instructing climbing programs to bo th youth and

adults (indoors or out)

- Belay certified
