This position is a 9-month work-year position. You will be placed on unpaid time off for approximately three (3) months or twelve (12) weeks each academic year. The dates will vary each academic year and may fluctuate based on business needs.
Purpose
Provide receptionist, clerical and front office support in several clinics at University Health Services, specifically for the Physical Therapy department.
Responsibilities
- Front office duties such as: check-in/check-out students for appointments; schedule health appointments; answer a multi-line phone; manage day-to-day front office duties; send correspondence via secure message to students; collect insurance information and enter in EHR; scan insurance card; process record release requests for immunizations.
- Exhibits exceptional customer service behavior and excellent public relations skills in all aspects of work.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or GED. Five years of experience with clerical functions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Accuracy in grammar and punctuation.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly with minimal training and supervision.
- Flexibility with shifting priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Exhibits customer service-oriented behavior and excellent public relations skills in all aspects of work.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than the required years of experience with clerical functions.
- Experience working in the front office of a healthcare/medical clinic.
- Experience using Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Word, Excel software Windows environment.
- Experience collecting insurance information.
- Experience working in a student health center.
Salary Range
$3,522.60 per month

Work Shift
- Monday & Friday, 8AM – 5PM; Tuesday-Thursday 9AM – 6PM
