Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to serve as a technical advisor on transportation projects for our Clifton, NJ office.

This role is available immediately.

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare technical reports, specifications and construction documents.
  • Prepare subsurface exploration programs, laboratory assignments and preparing geotechnical reports
  • Evaluate ground conditions and understand their impacts on design and construction.
  • Provide guidance to entry level Engineers.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Perform geotechnical investigations and construction inspections.
  • Lead/manage geotechnical engineering investigations.
  • Perform pile analysis, slope stability, settlement analysis, ground improvements and seepage analysis.
  • Utilize computer software programs, such as: APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEAP.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or related + 4 years of related experience and/or education or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • NY PE highly preferred and NJ PE desirable
  • Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5 years of related work experience preferable
  • Experience with NYSDOT, and NJDOT
  • Ability to lead/manage geotechnical engineering investigations
  • Ability to perform construction inspection on foundation elements
  • Experience with pile Analysis , Slope Stability and seepage analysis
  • Experience with computer software programs such as APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEAP.prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents
  • Ability to prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents

  • Offered rate of compensation (New York City & New Jersey locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $110,000-125,000.
