About the Team and Role:
The Corporate FP&A organization is seeking an experienced professional to provide financial and strategic insights; lead the monthly forecast process; support the Investor Relations team with the quarterly earnings process; and manage finance transformation activities. This requires building close partnerships with FP&A, Markets, Business Units teams, as well as other corporate functions (Treasury, Controllership, Compensation) to support our leadership team. This highly visible role reports to the Director, Corporate FP&A.
Job Description:
This role will be on the eBay Corporate FP&A team supporting FP&A efforts across the entire company. This team serves as the principal interface between Corporate (CEO/CFO/IR), other corporate functions and eBay’s global finance teams. The successful candidate will move beyond the numbers and work with key stakeholders to understand the market, business dynamics, and key messages. The role requires a candidate that can learn quickly, think and communicate clearly, and provide positive influence throughout the organization. This is a leadership role on the team, will have at least one direct report, and will be tasked with support and development of these individual(s).
Doing FP&A for the corporate team is uniquely interesting and challenging, and we are looking for stellar finance leaders who possesses strong critical thinking, domain expertise, phenomenal communication skills, exemplary leadership, and execution horsepower.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the regular forecasting (M) process, managing all stakeholders relationships, preparing materials for management reviews, and highlighting key trends as well as risks & opportunities
- Own the Quarter End daily flash forecasting process to review financial forecasts against quarter end expectations, provide insightful analysis and prepare management review materials to drive decisions
- Prepare quarterly financial information and analysis to support the quarter-end earnings process, partnering with the Investor Relations team to prepare earnings guidance, consolidate financial analysis & reporting, and provide detailed business performance insight to inform earnings messaging
- Design and build presentations for Executive and Board level audiences
- Develop a strong working relationship with all the various teams spanning multiple business units/geographies and keep up to date with daily/weekly/monthly business reviews in order to be in sync with current business and industry trends
A successful candidate will possess sound strategic perspective, business judgment, financial statements understanding, financial story-telling capabilities, and a collaborative working style. The ability to lead partners through clear communication and cross-functional relationships is very important.
