What will you be doing?

Circana is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join the international team in our headquarter controller group. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations for various domestic and international responsibilities, while maintaining and reporting accurate and timely financial information and ensuring appropriate controls and compliance processes are followed.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in completing the monthly financial accounting close process.
  • Supports external financial reporting including MD&A and related supporting documents.
  • Ensures Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) compliance.
  • Performs accounting research and document related position memorandums, supporting internal management reporting.
  • Performs balance sheet and income statement financial analyses, reviewing/analyzing profit & Loss statements for assigned divisions/roll-up functions.
  • Completes balance sheet account reconciliations, supporting annual financial audits, proactively taking on special projects/ad hoc analyses, and performing other assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Manages lease queries to ensure subsidiary reporting compliance under ASC842.
  • Performs variance analyses by reviewing the balance sheet and income statements for significant, unusual, or unexpected variances, and research variances to identify root causes.
  • Assists in completing the monthly close process while ensuring that all accounting entries for assigned areas are timely, accurate, and comply with GAAP.
  • Ensures international monthly results are reconciled, reviewed, and have appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Supports the annual financial audit and prepares work papers for external auditors.

 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
  • CPA certification required.
  • 3 - 5 years of financial accounting experience, preferably in the technology and service industries.
  • ”Big Four” accounting firm experience is preferred.
  • In-depth working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
  • Excellent skills in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player; ability to work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to manage projects to timely completion.
  • Previous experience with supporting an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system initiative as a Controller’s Group representative is a plus.
  • Previous experience with Workday Adaptive Insights is a plus.
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and proficient with other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
