Lumberyard Forklift Operator
The Lumberyard Forklift Operator is responsible for ensuring a clean work environment, strapping product, operating a 5K Forklift, unstrapping rail cars, and unloading box cars. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, able to lead with minimal direction, adaptable to changes as they arise, and who enjoy working outdoors year-round. The Lumberyard Forklift Operator reports directly to the Site Supervisor and is a Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt position.
- Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Starting Pay: $17.75 hourly
Primary Job Duties Include:
- Clean up and remove trash/debris from inside and outside the facility
- Use cleaning tools to remove dust and debris from walls, racks and other items
- General Housekeeping duties in production areas
- Strap products into Gondolas
- Unstrap railcars
- Unload box cars using Forklift
- Utilization of fall protection system when working with rail cars
- Move and stack materials using Forklift, as directed
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1 years’ Lumber Yard Experience
- Rail car Experience a plus
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to walk, bend, lift, and stand throughout the duration of the shift
- Must be flexible with working in multiple site locations
