Job Summary

Contacts clients and follows up for resolution of past due payments. Maintains low delinquency and ensure sub-standard leases and loans are at a minimum across Flagstar Financial’s lines of business. Assists management with reports, special projects and analysis as needed. Accept payments via check by phone or the receipt of checks via mail or hand delivery. Ensure any payments are forwarded to the appropriate party.

Hourly Pay Range: $30. 78 - $40.01 - $49.25

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for contacting past due obligors across SF's lines of business- indirect vehicle leases, taxi medallion, indirect/direct equipment leases & loans via telephone, emails & correspondence (collection letters)
• Works closely with other departments to solve disputed transactions; communicate any issues with 3rd party / ESOs. Escalate difficult debtors / clients to department head if necessary.
• Reviews security agreements and promisorry notes on individual deals. Calculate default and acceleration balances. Assist with modification process in order to restructure. Assign accounts for repossessions / legal and maintain log.

• Assists junior staff with escalated issues and more complex collection situations. May direct day to day work flow of junior staff including training of new employees.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years' experience within a collection department of a commercial lending environment required
• Education Level Required: High school diploma or general education degree
• Supervisory experience (a plus)

Preferred Qualifications

• Structure/legal terms of promissory notes and security agreements
• Ability to negotiate effectively
