The Security, Data and Governance (SDG) team in the CISO organization has a mission to enable Microsoft to be digitally secure, through effective Security Governance and Data Intelligence. The SDG Engineering builds and manages services that manage and automate processes and delivers data solutions to evaluate the state of security at Microsoft. We are looking for a passionate and self-driven Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers, work with product management, business operations and partner engineering teams to influence, develop and deliver scalable services as part of a larger governance ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Leads and manages a team of full stack Software Engineers, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and high-impact team culture.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of security data management systems and automation tools.
- Drive the creation of scalable processes that enhance the security posture of Microsoft and reduce friction for our engineering community.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational security goals and customer needs.
- Partners with product management teams, leverages subject-matter expertise and drives project development and delivery plans; manages team sprint planning, scrums, and retrospectives to ensure timely deliveries of team commitments.
- Coaches and leads the team by example to create and maintain extensible, reliable, reusable, high-performance, and secure code.
- Promotes and leads by example on growth mindset, proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of services, while also driving consistency in operations at scale.
