Your Role:  

At EMD Electronics, as the Customer Quality Engineer, you will analyze data to ensure quality metrics meet and exceed corporate objectives related to customer quality of products and services offered within Delivery Systems and Services (DS&S).   This is supporting the ever evolving and challenging semi- conductor field where the environment is fast paced and dynamic. 

  • Analyze data to ensure quality metrics meet / exceed corporate objectives related to customer quality of products and services offered within DS&S.
  • Review trends related to warranty impact, feedback from Supplier Quality Management / Research & Development/ Manufacturing.
  • Facilitate focus teams to review for trends related to warranty impact, feedback from SQM / R&D.
  • Assist with quality initiatives related to New Product Development, gate assessments and audits related to New Product Development to ensure quality of process / products and transfer to manufacturing facilities.
  • Collaborate and work cross functionally with Business Team, SME’s, Sales, R&D and Mfg,  to perform analysis of customer satisfaction / warranty issues / Interruption to productions.
  • Lead Failure mode effects analyses based on warranty / failure data, conducting risk assessments and lead activities with depts to address deficiencies.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action investigations through working cross functionally with engineering, SQM, manufacturing, Field Service, R&D, etc. Methods used include 8D reports, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA, 5 Why, etc.
  • Review failure analysis reports to determine how to disposition RMA parts and look for trends.
  • Understand how to process RMAs and manage claims from a global customer base. Develop standardized work instructions for this process.
  • Support ISO 9001-2015 / QMS requirements and contribute to Continuous Improvement Culture.
  • Support internal audits and systematic site audits.
  • Ability to work overtime and travel (10% or less) as needed.


Who You Are:


Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, etc.).
  • 2+ years of experience in working in a quality control or manufacturing environment

OR

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in and Engineering discipline (e.g. Electrical,  Mechanical, Chemical,  etc.)
  • 3+ years’ of experience working in a Quality or Manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • SAP or similar ERP system experience.
  • Operational expertise in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Expertise in performing corrective action and preventative action investigations.
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to construct and present information to a wide range of audiences, both internal and external.
  • Detail oriented with excellent documentation and organization skills.
  • Self-motivated, strong initiative, and experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities based on urgent customer needs.
