At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
This position is an expert role in enterprise architecture, with strengths in business blueprints, collaboration and the methodology for translating business value into systems transformation. You will be a key architecture leader for the Raytheon business in ensuring business systems and applications are focused on leadership priorities, value and key capabilities for many years into the future, while also working with solution-level architects on drivers into technologies and integration. The role also includes close work with corporate representatives on the RTX Company-level Process and Systems Transformation, balancing commonality with support for critical business processes.
As an Enterprise Architect at Raytheon, you will enhance and expand the business blueprint characterizing value, capabilities, organizations and information that will shape business systems and applications. You will be part of a small team of senior architects at the business level with partners focused on the technology roadmaps and solutions, as well as interacting regularly with stakeholders at the corporate level who are leading an ERP Transformation.
- Enable the Business, not Vendors – More commonality and reduced customization are not value propositions, they are a means to achieve value when they make sense. All integrations, standards, technologies and user experience must be driven by optimal benefits to business value streams which do, and always will, include non-digital steps that need to share the digital tools. Use cases will be used to shape a blueprint that appropriately constrains and scopes the role of ERP vs. Business Systems vs. Business Stakeholder actions.
- Connect to the Thread, not Tools – All integrations, automation and data transfers will be driven by building against the Business Digital Thread owned by Raytheon (or RTX), not by vendor-specific standards.
- Establish the Application Source of Truth Map – An authoritative map for applications tied to which are the best choice for which objectives and users will be developed and hosted in one digital platform across the business or enterprise.
On the collaboration with corporate partners and peers at other RTX businesses, the role requires close familiarity with process models, ERP systems, international business systems for landed companies and subsidiaries, and setting scalable integration methods to operate with both enterprise-wide standards and business agility. The work with Corporate will include focus areas on
- Data readiness, including cleanup, structural design and harmonization
- Business process harmonization, to understand the challenges, implications and changes necessary to harmonize processes and tools, and
- Joint development of a digital foundation, which considers global trade and cybersecurity, to ensure RTX can scale this technology enterprise-wide
You will be the primary architect at the Raytheon Business to develop and maintain master business models depicting value streams, business capabilities, organization maps, and information relationships to guide investments and strategic planning. You will collaborate with peer enterprise and solution architects, stakeholders and cross-functional leaders across RTX businesses to achieve these objectives. Your work will be featured in our architecture repository, knowledgebase, intranet presence, and standard work and briefed to senior leaders.
As an architect, you will use formal architecture frameworks, agile practices, and strategic thinking (including TOGAF, Zachman, Scaled Agile, and CORE) to optimize our work, and coach architects on best practices and agile concepts. You will identify and organize the Raytheon Business Architecture blueprints and associated guidance to solution architecture, plus champion continuous improvement to help all Digital architects understand business drivers.
