Position Objective

The Sr. Business Analyst for Global Trade & Compliance leads the analysis, documentation, and optimization of business processes and systems related to international trade, regulatory compliance, and cross-border operations. This role translates global trade requirements into functional ERP specifications, supports implementation and testing of trade-related system enhancements, gathers stakeholder feedback, and drives continuous improvement across compliance workflows. The analyst ensures ERP capabilities—such as Infor LN, Baan, or comparable platforms—effectively support customs processes, trade controls, documentation, and global movement of goods.

Dimensions

  • Partners closely with Global Trade, Compliance, and Information Technology Solutions (ITS) teams.

  • Works with ERP developers, compliance specialists, global logistics teams, and external partners to align system functionality with regulatory needs.

  • Trains business users and subject matter experts on trade‑compliance features and processes within the ERP ecosystem.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, configuration, and testing of ERP functionality that supports global trade, customs compliance, and cross‑border product movement.

  • Troubleshoot global trade–related system issues and ensure operational effectiveness across regions.

  • Translate compliance and trade requirements into functional ERP documentation and support related technical design and test planning.

  • Apply knowledge of international trade regulations and enterprise systems to help business units achieve compliant and efficient global operations.

  • Support continuous improvement of trade‑related ERP processes, including classification workflows, duty‑relief programs, documentation automation, and audit readiness.

  • Conduct business process analysis to map current (as‑is) and future (to‑be) trade and compliance workflows; identify required ERP configurations or enhancements.

  • Develop user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria for global trade and compliance features in ERP systems.

  • Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, developers, and testers to ensure successful delivery of trade‑focused system enhancements.

  • Provide leadership on medium‑to‑high complexity trade‑compliance initiatives and review analysis work done by junior analysts.

What You Need to Have

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, or an equivalent discipline.

Technical Excellence

  • 6–8 years of experience in ERP systems with a strong focus on global trade, customs, export controls, or related compliance functions.

  • Moderate knowledge of enterprise platforms such as ERP (preferred: Infor LN or Baan), CRM, SCM, or PLM.

  • Experience with trade‑rel
