Seconds count in an emergency, and every caregiver in the ED plays a critical role in protecting safety and health. As an RN, you will use your nursing knowledge and skills to ensure timely, effective and efficient care throughout treatment. Every day, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide direct nursing care. 

• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

• Educate patients and their families.   

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing    

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)     

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)    

• One year of current acute care/Emergency Department RN experience OR licensed military RN experience    

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS_ Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one year of hire  

• Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon or within two years of hire  

  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
