Job Purpose

Modular's Training Services team is responsible for coordinating and delivering training services both internally and externally. As a Training Specialist you will join our North American Regional Business Unit’s cohesive team to provide technical training services to mining operations located throughout North America with additional opportunities to provide training to our customers globally. Delivering high quality training services to an exemplary standard is our goal. Training will instill foundational understanding and usage for our customers when operating Modular’s solutions. Therefore, you must have an excellent working knowledge of Modular products and software applications and the ability to deliver memorable training services.

Travel Requirements

• Approximately 30%

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

Each day will present you with new challenges and opportunities to test and grow your skills.  As a Training Specialist with Modular, you’ll will:

• Deliver training about Modular products Train customers (internal and external) in using Modular products by using audio/visuals, in-seat, classroom, hands-on, and experience related methods to generate increased revenue/ improve customer value.
• Use variety of tools for assessment including, exams (written and verbal), practical demonstrations, logged seat time, KPI portfolios, observational assessments, and computer-based assessing to achieve high level of user competency
• Provide consultative training to customers on a one-on-one level based on customer learning needs and per customer request.
• Generate post-trip reports about delivered training
• Provide post-recommendations to the account manager and the Manager customer services about customer training needs.
• Act as a resource/ domain expert for other departments/ external customers, helping to trouble-shoot/ test code and training materials in house and on-site.

 

Required Skills

Education

• Minimum high school diploma or certificate level in mine related areas or certification in training development and/or delivery (Bachelor's degree preferred)

Experience

• Must be familiar with safe working practices
• 3 years hands on experience within dispatch (or similar product within mining operation/s) or 5 years working with products or services provided by Modular/ Komatsu 
• Experience with training in an online and in person classroom environment

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills required to effectively communicate and provide customer service
• Spanish language skills (spoken and written)
• Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
• Have patience and ability to communicate, interact and train to the highest level possible
• Demonstrate flexibility with changing operating environments
• Competence with Microsoft
