Description

Position Summary:

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for the direct implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming with clients at Westside Children’s Therapy, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Providing predominantly play-based therapy, the RBT will support Westside clients in the development of a wide variety of skills.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide supplemental and temporary support to ABA clinical teams within an assigned region
  • Coordinate with Clinic ABA Directors to determine which site needs the most coverage support
  • Provide direct therapy coverage for clinics in region that need assistance 
  • Implement direct therapy services for assigned clients and caseload, following programming written by BCBA
  • Engage with BCBA during regular supervision sessions to ask questions and receive feedback
  • Collect and record data on patients’ behavior
  • Complete and submit required documentation (e.g., SOAP notes) in a timely manner, aligned with Westside's policies and procedures 
  • Develop strong relationships with the children on assigned caseload and strive to make every session a fun experience

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience and Credentials:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable  transportation for travel between clinics
  • 1 year of experience as an RBT at Westside or two years of related experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes and competing demands 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Competence with a variety of computer applications
  • Comfortable persona to better develop relationships with children and their families

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

 

  • Ability to learn and implement de-escalation skills for client sessions
  • Ability to lift or carry 30 lbs
  • Ability to work in a variety of positions, including on the floor during played-based therapy 

 

Travel Requirements

  • Frequent travel required within 30 miles of “Home” clinic.
