Job Description

The Clinical Manager is responsible for the overall organization, operation, supervision and management of the Cardiopulmonary Services Department, and staff. This individual is additionally responsible for overseeing provision of respiratory care to all patients that range from infant to geriatric who may have any type of disease or physical limitation. The Cardiopulmonary Services Manager demonstrates special knowledge of equipment and maintenance of the equipment as utilized in Respiratory Services, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Cardiovascular Diagnostics, Holter Monitors and EKG's. This position oversees participation in performance improvement as well as other interdepartmental functions as assigned. This individual must work closely with physicians, nurses, and all other clinical staff. Conducts testing and procedures in accordance with current policy and applicable federal, state, and regulatory agencies guidelines and regulations to assure that the highest quality of care is maintained at all times.

Education
Associates required
Bachelors preferred

Experience
Four years respiratory care required
Experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred
Management experience in Respiratory Care preferred

Certification & Licensures
Virginia State Licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner required
RRT - NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care) required
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider* (HCP) - AHA approved required
ACLS required

* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
Ability to maintain Continued Education Units as required by Virginia Board of Medicine required
Strong clinical background, critical care experience preferred, and an interest in education required
Excellent teaching ability and communication skills required
Understanding of relevant federal and state regulatory standards required
Supervisory skills to perform and supervise respiratory care as prescribed to patients of all ages, neonate through geriatric required
Ability to handle moderate to high pressure, and stressful situations in a calm and conscientious manner required
Ability and willingness to assume responsibility of Cardiopulmonary Services department operation and management duties required
Ability to support Valley Health Administration, Warren Memorial Hospital Administration, and Respiratory Services system-wide goals required
