Swift is looking for a Systems & Application Management Support Specialist to join our team. This is a HYBRID role that requires two days per week on-site in Manassas, VA.

In this role you will:

• Exert technical influence to improve the reliability of our production products and systems.
• Resolve moderately complex issues through investigation and solution development for effective mitigation and prevention of future recurrence by means of process, procedure, or tools improvements.
• Execute production installations including configuration setups, error message handling, and service verification and review of operational procedures in accordance with the established process.
• Design, develop, test and maintain automation of monitoring/testing tools for infrastructure and problem management analysis.
• Provide effective and detailed systems analysis that can contribute to definition of throughput requirements, information and application data flows, hardware and software requirements, and alternative approaches.
• Actively participate in design review meetings for medium to large size/complexity/risk projects.
• Periodic work on the weekends, mainly on Saturday, in support of production deployments.
• Participate in system/network projects/enhancements by representing the department and providing technical input ensuring adherence to documented processes and procedures and risk mitigation effort

Technical skills & knowledge 

• Comfort with RHEL
• Programming languages: Scripting languages, including ksh, Python or Perl
• Analytics software such as Elastic and Kibana
• Familiarity with configuration and deployment management software such as BitBucket, Jenkins and Ansible.
• Ability to work under pressure

Desirable technical skills & knowledge

• Experience with distributed systems with high availability requirements and balancing the service reliability, sustainability, and technical debt for services running at scale
• Demonstrate leverage of a methodical and analytical mindset during problem investigations and management of incidents
• DB: Proficient working knowledge of Oracle DB
• Exposure to languages such as C/C++ and Java.

Education:  BS Degree

Experience: 5+ years of related working experience in the similar role.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $108,710.00 MINIMUM to $201,890.00 MAXIMUM USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
