Senior Director, Early Development/Science Sourcing

This Senior Director level role is responsible for leading and setting the strategic direction for sourcing for Early Development (Research Models and Biospecimen categories) within the Sourcing & Procurement organization.
The Senior Director for the Research Models and Biospecimen Category will oversee an annual spend of over $200M covering 500k biospecimens across multiple sub-categories. This role will provide supply and sourcing leadership to ensure adequate supply as well as identify new sources of supply globally to support current and future business needs. This role will also drive the identification, development, and management of new supplier relationships globally to ensure Labcorp has a multi-source model to support the Research Models and Biospecimen category. This role will require a deep understanding of the commercial dynamics of the biopharma client environment with a view to developing financially robust sourcing solutions that will position Labcorp competitively in the marketplace. This individual will also manage a team of 5 sourcing professionals located globally across the US, EU, and Asia.
This role reports to the Vice President of Global Sourcing, as the strategic leader for this global category, your position sets the direction at the enterprise level and develops proposals that shape long-term business strategy to ensure supply chain continuity.

What to Expect
This hybrid position offers a balanced schedule of a minimum of three in-office days at an assigned location to be either Burlington or Durham, NC, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.
Travel is up to 25% to other sites and supplier facilities (domestic and global). Laboratory environments, in areas that contain biologic and chemical hazards (with use of personal protective equipment), are occasionally required.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing, communicating, and leading execution of Early Development Sourcing strategy. Drives the formulation and delivery of strategies to accomplish key priorities and advance the business mission.
- Leadership of 5+ direct reports.
- Actively invest in building and developing talent (both within and outside the organization of responsibility), supporting career planning, engagement, and performance management to ensure value add to the business and to foster team engagement, motivation, and retention.
- Identify and monitor market, financial and business trends, metrics and intelligence within the functional area and influence data driven decisions.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, supply chain, business, biological sciences, or similar.
- 12+ years of (industry-related) operational experience, with at least 5 of those years in a Sr. Leadership or Director-level role, leading and managing cross-functional teams/projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate to and influence all levels of the organization from front-line team members to senior leadership.
- Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to identify impact, risks and action plan.
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting at the department level along with financial analysis of potential business cases for operational expense and capital investments.
- Knowledge of and experience applying Lean Six-sigma and ISO principles.
- Experience in a diagnostics supply chain & laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing and collaborating
