Description

Be at the forefront of change and become part of the innovative and forward-thinking academic team at the University of Michigan-Flint's Physician Assistant Department in the rapidly expanding College of Health Sciences! The Physician Assistant program at UM-Flint is seeking a LEO Lecturer I starting in the Winter 2026 semester to serve as a Lab Assistant for PPA 531 at 7.43% effort. The meeting days and times for these courses are TBD. 

Course Descriptions:

PPA 531 - Patient Evaluation for PA Practice I: Skills required to perform a complete medical evaluation of a patient. Interviewing, effective communication skills, physical examination techniques utilizing a systems anatomic approach, construction and writing of organized medical histories and physical examination.  

Responsibilities

The candidate will support clinical education in medical training by organizing, facilitating, and assessing a wide range of student learning activities. Duties include coordinating and overseeing OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations) and skills check-offs, guiding small-group case sessions, and grading procedural skill assessments. In addition, assist in leading lab practice sessions for clinical and technical skills. Additional responsibilities involve grading student work and providing feedback.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate OSCEs and skills check-offs in clinical and technical skills.
  • Lead small group case-based learning sessions.
  • Organize and supervise lab practice sessions for essential procedures and clinical scenarios.
  • Assess student performance through direct observation and grading.
  • Provide structured feedback to learners to enhance clinical competence.
  • This position requires strong clinical knowledge, organizational skills, and effective communication abilities to support medical students’ development of essential clinical skills

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant
  • State of Michigan Physician Assistant license
  • NCCPA Board certification

Desired Qualifications

  • PA education experience
