The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum equipment/facilities downtime, optimum maintenance cost, and maximum productivity. In addition, the Planner provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance for improving Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities. This position helps to ensure compliance with company and government policies related to personnel safety and food safety throughout the warehouse. Responsible for maintaining the facility CMMS( Computerized Maintenance Management Software) system and audits the effectiveness of maintenance work.
This role is fully onsite based at our Tracy Distribution Center.
What You Will Do:
Understands the concepts of planning and scheduling maintenance work
Review current equipment PMs for validity, accuracy and clarity and modify as needed.
Add new PMs based on equipment performance and breakdown reflections.
Add PMs for new equipment based on supplier recommendations and maintenance team feedback
Qualify in Continuous Improvement Pillars & Systems that will enable reduced equipment downtime and maintenance cost (i.e. Autonomous Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Fundamentals)
Develop and lead Continuous Improvement Systems Related to Maintenance (i.e. Defect Handling, CIL, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Storeroom Management, Tools & Facilities, Breakdown Elimination, etc.)
Coordinate outside service request, establish purchase orders, ensure purchase orders are closed and manage expenses within budget requirements
Assist in preparing the maintenance budget and manage expenses within budget requirements.
Prioritize work to achieve highest efficiencies possible
Use computers and associated software programs such as Weever, Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel to plan maintenance activities and develop training documents. Utilize Visio to create process flow charts
Track metrics, performance, and efficiency of work scheduled using spreadsheets and graphs as well as document in report format, PowerPoint slides, Power BI, Weever, and on bulletin boards
Read and comprehend technical manuals, service manuals, diagrams, blueprints and schematics
Understand the theory and operation of the warehouse equipment
Understand environmental requirements as they relate to scheduling and completing work
Understand the theory of and application of predictive and preventive maintenance as it relates to warehouse equipment
Manage predictive and preventive maintenance for the warehouse building, and warehouse equipment and schedule required corrective actions
Identify and assist in the implementation of safety or other projects as required
Ensure operating areas are maintained to current GMP standards
Possess electrical knowledge and understand the warehouse power distribution system
Read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and P&ID flow diagrams
Utilize Weever to plan, schedule, print, document time, and manage WO's from inception through completion
Keep accurate records as required to protect products, processes, and information
Ensure all security measures are followed
Audit and monitor programs and processes as needed to maintain reliability
Qualify in safety systems (LOTO, Fall Prevention/Protection, Work Permits, Contractor/Visitor Safety, Chemical Management / Spill prevention, Material Handling Equipment, Electrical Safety, etc.)
Read, understand, and comply with MSDS’s
Responds in a timely manner to associate work requests including safety work orders
Qualify in Food Safety / FDA / Organic Certification requirements
Qualified in Operations Tasks in the warehouse
Implement a storeroom for critical spare parts to reduce Mean Time to Repair
Communicate effectively with management regarding PM requirements, completions, and challenges
Update Maintenance Library with new equipment information
Purchaser of storeroom parts
Any other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
4+ years of related maintenance experience is required
High school diploma or GED
Good Manufacturing Practices
Maintenance Troubleshooting
Failure Analysis
Continuous Improvement Knowledge
Basic computer skills (MS Office programs)
Ability to lift and carry 50
