The Project EHS Manager will lead and support safety efforts across multiple active job sites and service teams. This role serves as the primary safety liaison for project managers, field supervisors, client representatives, and service teams, ensuring all safety needs are addressed from planning through project completion.

In addition to field leadership, the Project EHS Manager will partner with the EHS Director to help develop, review, and enhance company-wide safety policies, procedures, and standards. This is a hands-on, high-impact position that combines field presence with strategic input to promote a strong, consistent, and evolving safety culture across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Act as the lead safety resource across multiple concurrent projects and service operations

· Travel to job sites across NC, SC, and GA to conduct inspections, investigations, and field support

· Collaborate with the EHS Director to develop, update, and implement company EHS policies, procedures, and standards

· Coach and mentor field associates to build a safety-first mindset and support professional development

· Conduct job site inspections, hazard assessments, and verify corrective actions are completed

· Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; evaluate and monitor corrective action implementation

· Coordinate all required safety documentation, including permits, lift plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)

· Maintain accurate training records and ensure regulatory and client compliance

· Deliver and support safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding sessions

· Utilize electronic safety documentation tools for data entry, tracking, and reporting

· Support service teams in field environments by providing timely, situation-specific EHS guidance

· Identify and assess systemic safety issues and recommend process-level corrective actions

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with project teams, clients, and internal departments

· Promote problem-solving, conflict resolution, and continuous improvement within all aspects of safety operations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Collaborates with: Project Managers, EHS Team, Field Supervisors, Client Safety Representatives

· Supports: Mechanical, boiler, service, and security teams in the field

· Partners with: EHS Director, Safety Technicians, Training Coordinators, and policy stakeholders

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· 5+ years of EHS experience in construction, mechanical contracting, or industrial service environments

· Proven ability to manage safety efforts across multiple projects and locations

· Strong working knowledge of construction processes, methods, and safety terminology

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with adopting new digital tools and safety platforms

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and influence at all levels

· Solid investigative, analytical, and conflict resolution skills

· OSHA 30 certification required; CHST, CSP, or equivalent credentials preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret bulletins, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures and instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and other personnel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as ratios and proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume and time weighted averages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to recognize chemical symbol
