Prudential Investment Risk is seeking an Associate to join the Credit, Equity and ESG team.  You will help assess, analyze and risk manage a broad portfolio of complex financial products, including but not limited to public and private credit as well as private equity and alternative investments.  The role will also entail the development of a quantitative analytical framework for assessing the impact of climate-related risks on Prudential’s investment portfolio and evolving use cases for this analysis into broader risk frameworks.

The current Employee Work Arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Serve as a key member of the Credit, Equity and ESG Risk team, focusing on identifying, assessing, and managing Prudential’s investment risk across a variety of asset classes including public and private credit and equity and alternative investments, while assessing climate-related investment risks across Prudential’s General Account
  • Work closely with the Chief Investment Office to assist in second-line risk analysis of new collateral types and asset classes which are being considered for the investment portfolio
  • Perform independent credit reviews of internally-rated private credits, participate in early warning and watch list calls to assess emerging areas of risk
  • Help develop risk analytics and data solutions for portfolio monitoring and observation across asset classes with a variety of internal partners, including CIO, Global Technology, and PGIM
  • Effectively communicate changes in risk exposure and emerging risk themes
  • Perform ad-hoc strategic research on various investment topics
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on financial climate-related risks and help influence Prudential’s strategic approach to these risks with a variety of internal stakeholders across the enterprise
  • Risk quantification (through credit modeling and fundamental credit analysis) and measurement (through the limit framework and Risk Appetite Framework) will be employed
  • Cross-functional work across IRM and Risk is essential for a holistic understanding of capital impacts in both cyclical and severe stress events

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in investments, credit, or risk
  • Excellent analytical skills; highly proficient in Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex topics in a concise matter to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for financial markets
  • Self-starter with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working on multiple tasks with competing priorities both independently and within a team construct

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Advanced degree or CFA
  • Experience with fundamental credit analysis; private credit or alternative investments experience
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical and mathematical concepts
  • Experience and proficiency with coding and data management tools (e.g., Python, R, Tableau)

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
