As a Regional Oncology and Infusion Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, effective and personalized medication therapy for patients receiving infusion treatments. In this collaborative role, you’ll verify complex clinical infusion orders, assess patient profiles for appropriate dosing and safety and consult with providers on treatment regimens for both oncology and non-oncology indications. Your expertise in understanding drug purposes, effects and interactions will help optimize therapy and protect patients as they navigate advanced treatments that can significantly improve quality of life. A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm with no weekend, holiday or on call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services. 
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations. 
  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. 
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards. 
  • Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences. 
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days (for individuals required to administer immunizations)  
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. For caregivers required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest, this is required within one year of hire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Board certification
  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area (i.e. Critical Care, Oncology)
