We are currently seeking an EHS Manager, Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene (OH/IH) to lead a critical pillar in our Global EHS Center of Excellence (COE).  This position reports to the Sr. Manager of the Global EHS Center of Excellence and is based at our advanced manufacturing facility located in Casa Grande, Arizona.

The Role

  • Lead a team and serve as the technical expert for ensuring proper occupational health and industrial hygiene practices across the business enterprise.
  • Provide strategic direction and build partnerships with stakeholders to support technical program deliverables and risk reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and deploy systems, processes, and programs to effectively address organization-wide risk in the occupational health and industrial hygiene disciplines.
  • Implement and sustain corporate-wide industrial hygiene programs including chemical use evaluation, HazCom, personal protective equipment (PPE), hearing conservation, chemical exposure assessment, etc.
  • Deploy and maintain a robust occupational health program including injury/illness treatment (management of care), medical monitoring, medical case management, workers compensation, etc.
  • Lead regulatory inspection activities and assist in driving closure actions as required.
  • Responsible for budgets, schedules, work plans, staffing and performance requirements.
  • Manage direct reports and provide direction, coaching, and mentorship.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s or Bachelors degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health, toxicology, medical, chemical/industrial engineering, or related EHS engineering field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a People Manager role.
  • Experience managing third party occupational health services including clinic operation, early symptom intervention, fit for duty, qualitative/quantitative risk assessments, etc.
  • Familiarity with OH compliance requirements - data consistency/retention, OSHA injury/illness recordkeeping, etc.
  • Fundamental understanding of manufacturing and construction processes/practices.
  • Experienced establishing operational objectives, work plans and critical metrics.
  • Ability to allocate resources to meet schedules/goals and get results.
  • Comfortable engaging in and leading collaborative cross-functional efforts.
  • Adept at interacting with senior management on matters concerning the EHS programs’ key business risks. 
  • Experienced in engaging and partnering with external regulatory entities (e.g. OSHA, AHJ’s, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience in EH&S, a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification, and Spanish language abilities are a plus.
