We are seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager – Chewy Vet Care to join our Practice Development Team in Bellevue, WA office. This role is the primary lead for the planning, coordination, and construction execution of veterinary clinic construction projects across North America. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced rollout environment, manages multiple concurrent projects in separate development phases (up to 10 annually), and ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership & Execution: Own end-to-end project delivery, managing the full lifecycle of construction from pre-construction through closeout for up to 10 clinic buildouts annually. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and contractor performance, ensuring turnover to Facilities and Site Launch is complete and timely.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Real Estate and Build teams, as well as the Preconstruction and Launch teams, to coordinate project scope, schedules, and deliverables. Serve as the primary construction point of contact for internal Team Members, landlords, vendors, and contractors.
  • Design & Technical Oversight: Review and provide feedback on design documentation for constructability, accuracy, and scope alignment. Review MEP submittals and shop drawings and coordinate long-lead procurement needs with vendors and Preconstruction.
  • Budget & Financial Management: Maintain active project budgets, review pay applications and invoices, and assess change orders for scope, cost, and schedule impact. Partner with Preconstruction on forecasting and reporting.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate project files, submittals, and approvals. Ensure all closeout deliverables (as-builts, lien waivers, warranties) are completed and handed off in alignment with company standards.
  • Apply Procore and other project management tools consistently. Share lessons learned, advance systemic blockers, and contribute to process improvements that boost efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Travel & Field Presence: Travel frequently (up to 50%) to project sites to monitor construction execution, quality, and contractor accountability. Act as Chewy’s in-field representative for brand quality during construction.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven track record of managing multiple construction projects simultaneously (rollout/retail/veterinary/healthcare preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles, building codes, and MEP systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong budgeting and cost management skills, with ability to evaluate pay apps and change orders.
  • Highly organized, diligent, and proactive problem-solver.
  • 10+ years’ progressive experience in construction project management; degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred.

 Preferred Skills:

  • Proven blend of administrative and technology proficiency, paired with hands-on experience in general construction. Solid understanding of architectural detailing, MEP systems, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, project management, and people leadership abilities.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with a talent for aligning teams around shifting priorities.
  • Experienced in collaborating across different departments and encouraging teamwork and creative problem-solving.

Travel Requirement:

  • This role requires up to 50% travel to Chewy Vet Care project sites and corporate locations across the United States. The position offers a flexible work arrangement, with the expectation that the candidate is located within approximately 15 miles of a major metropolitan international airport, and able to attend occasional meetings at regional hubs and HQ as needed.
