Position Summary

The HR, Payroll & Benefits Coordinator will assist our growing organization with the administration of day-to-day operations of various human resources functions. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, driven self-starter that is detail-oriented and exudes a passion for continuous improvement. The candidate must have great interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Coordinator helps with the tactical duties required to successfully implement HR services, policies and programs.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Employee Experience & Onboarding

  • Work closely with HR, Operations, IT, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure seamless onboarding experience. This will include HRIS onboarding, new hire announcements, onboarding welcome notes and packages, desk setup and various system setups.
  • Support HR team with new hire orientation scheduling, communications and meetings.
  • Assist with the collection and tracking of performance reviews (goal setting, 90-day reviews, mid-year, year-end).

 

HR Operations & Team Support

  • In collaboration with the HR Team, will maintain, monitor, and update, HRIS, Human Resources forms, compliance and system information to ensure data is organized and handled in a timely matter.
  • Co-manage the HR inbox, ensuring employee inquiries are addressed promptly.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team across projects and initiatives.

 

Payroll & Benefits

  • Assist with payroll and benefits enrollment and maintenance, including new hires, terminations, changes, garnishments, PTO updates, and employee census information.
  • Generate and distribute recurring payroll reports (general ledger, audit reports, etc.) for internal use and Finance review.
  • Provide first-line support for routine employee payroll and benefits inquiries, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Support payroll and benefit audits by compiling and validating employee data.
  • Prepare, review, and submit vendor invoices; perform monthly reconciliations by comparing invoices to enrollment data and escalating discrepancies.
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment process by preparing materials, coordinating communications, and supporting employee inquiries.

 

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain confidential employee files and ensure accuracy of payroll and benefits documentation.
  • Assist with compliance reporting (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA-related filings) under manager guidance.
  • Process routine unemployment claims and employment verifications.
  • Track compliance for background reports, employee handbook acknowledgments, anti-harassment training, new hire training, and other mandatory requirements.
  • Support preparation and submission of weekly internal HR reports.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1–2 years of experience in payroll, HR, and/or benefits administration preferred.
  • Keen interest in HR, payroll, and benefits required.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required); HRIS/payroll systems experience a plus (Paycor experience desirable).
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn, with a collaborative team mindset.

 

The pay range for this position is: $65,000-$67,500 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.
