Description

 Job Overview
The Coordinator Student Affairs/Threat Assessment coordinates the district's compliance with its responsibilities under Title lX and investigates complaints alleging sex discrimination, including sexual harassment. The Coordinator Student Affairs/Threat Assessment supports and guides campus leadership and other district personnel by implementing training and oversight to ensure compliance with all procedures and procedural safeguards required under Title lX and associated Texas state laws.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

COMPLIANCE AND POLICY DEVELOPMENT

  • Coordinate the district's compliance with Title lX requirements and maintain grievance protocols and procedures for students, parents, and employees
  • Work with campus administrators and district personnel to support appropriate Title lX determinations
  • Assist with the revision process of the Student Code of Conduct, administrative guides for effective school discipline, and the Student Parent Handbook
  • Assist campus and district administrators with the review and application of district policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of complaints, investigations, and resolutions in accordance with legal requirements
DATA MONITORING AND ANALYSIS
  • Review and monitor student reports to enable district and campus leaders to analyze and respond effectively
  • Develop a deep and comprehensive knowledge of federal Title lX regulations
  • Assist campus leaders in evaluating practices and making recommendations for appropriate changes
  • Maintain emotional stability to cope with student and parent suffering, emergencies, and other stressors
SUPPORT SERVICES AND INTERVENTION
  • Offer wrap-around service referrals to families and assist in developing student support plans
  • Provide counseling and support to parents, children, and campus staff
  • Support campus administrators in creating student safety plans and supportive measures related to Title lX
TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Develop educational programs or awareness campaigns aimed at curbing traumatic experiences in children’s lives
  • Collaborate with non-profits to organize and provide training to teachers, administrators, and students
  • Coordinate community-based programs and non-profit agencies to provide wrap-around supports to families
  • Develop and present professional development and required Title lX training for administrators and district personnel
  • Stay informed on current and emerging legislation, issues, and trends relevant to the position
    Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Supervise Threat Assessment Counselors and Student Intake Specialists
    • Assist in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and hiring of assigned staff
    • Initiate personnel actions including documentation and recommendations for termination under the guidance of Human Resources
    • Conduct performance appraisals of assigned staff
    • Plan, assign and direct work of assigned staff

    • Bachelor's degree in educational administration, social work, psychology public policy, human resources, legal studies, or a closely related field
    • Master's degree Preferred
    • Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification Preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public education at the campus
