The Brand, Marketing, and Communications department at William Blair is critical in supporting the firm's internal and external marketing and communication efforts. Our marketing internship offers 8 weeks of project-based practical work experience, exposure to William Blair’s products and services, opportunities to network and engage with colleagues and fellow program participants across the firm, and many professional learning opportunities.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Assist marketing managers in developing marketing plans and programs
- Collaborate with marketing managers to understand project scope and context and help bring projects to completion based on timelines
- Conduct competitive research and gap analysis, providing recommendations for various marketing channels (social, web, print, etc.)
- Contribute to brand strategy initiatives to enhance the overall corporate brand
- Support firm events, including but not limited to Growth Stock Conference and Alliance events
- Participate in refresh of the firm’s mission, vision, and values to help strengthen company culture
- Develop written recaps/articles following firm events, providing updates, etc.
- Analyze marketing metrics as needed
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new marketing ideas
- Conduct research on financial trends, customer demographics, and competitor offerings
- Perform additional team and project support tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Must have completed a minimum of two years of college and be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, Public Relations, or Journalism
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Flexible mindset and ability to manage different projects and tasks simultaneously
- Experience with Microsoft Office required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Ability to collaborate with others across multiple functions
- Attention to detail and quality
The work formation for this internship experience is hybrid (in-person/remote). Relocation is not provided for this internship. The program begins in early June and includes training, community service, and social events.
A reasonable estimate of the current hourly range at time of posting is below.
