Senior Program Manager, PMO

Alkermes is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support our Research organization and discovery program portfolio. This person will work closely with members across our organization including research and development, finance, legal, and procurement, new product planning, as well as the senior management team to orchestrate development and execution of programs within out discovery pipeline to meet key corporate goals.
This is a hybrid position onsite at our Waltham, MA office and the person must be in-person 3x a week.
This person will play a key role in the management and integration of cross functional discovery activities partnering closely with team members as well as functional leads to orchestrate development and ensure execution of discovery program project plans, timelines, and budgets that are aligned with overall program strategy.
Facilitates development and execution of discovery program plans, including:
Identification of critical program goals, activities, and constraints
Identification of efficient and effective operational plans and activities to achieve these goals
Supports team with optimization of plans by evaluating assumptions and incorporation of new inputs as the projects progress through discovery phases
Proactive management of project execution as well as potential risk areas, including identification and implementation of mitigation and/or contingency plans
Ensures issues are resolved by the team and communication / escalation is executed as needed
Facilitates an innovative solution-oriented mindset and transparency across the business
Facilitates cross-functional decision making, logistics and communication
Facilitates effective team and program communications/coordination and ensures strong program governance by:
Managing and facilitating project meetings which foster open and transparent communications with proactive agenda planning and minutes to support effective planning, decision making, problem solving and alignment
Ensures program updates and progress is communicated through aligned governance forums and metrics
Develops and maintains of program budgets, timelines, and communication tools/documents used by the team and senior management to ensure strong communication and integrated logistical operations across the business
Supports with proactive identification and implementation of process enhancements to support the evolving needs of our teams and the broader organization
Works collaboratively with Legal and Procurement teams to ensure contract and requisition workflows run smoothly and helps the Research team with mitigating issues and bottlenecks
Maintain strong relationships with external partners and academic collaborators, ensuring seamless coordination of outsourced activities

Basic Qualifications:
BS in a scientific or engineering discipline and at least 3-5 years of relevant discovery drug experience, MS strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint and SharePoint
Experience working with project management platforms such as MS Project, Smartsheet or Planview
Excellent verbal/written communication, time/resource management, attention to detail, interpersonal and organization skills
Experience in small molecule drug discovery in Neuroscience therapeutic areas
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $123,100 to $140,000. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual performance pay bonus.
