Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst assesses, analyzes, and enhances the security posture of enterprise systems with an emphasis on Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance and cyber resiliency. supports leads efforts to detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats across DoD networks. This role requires deep technical knowledge, analytical experience, and strong familiarity with compliance frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, reviews, and maintains RMF documentation, such as System Security Plans (SSPs) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages, and supporting system owners throughout the RMF lifecycle, including categorization, assessment, and authorization activities
- Evaluates system cyber resiliency to identify vulnerabilities, mitigates risks, and formulates strategies to strengthen defenses against cyber threats
- Conducts security assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans; monitors systems for threats; analyzes and responds to incidents; and prepares detailed reports on findings and compliance status
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including system administrators and architects, validating the integration of robust security measures
- Assists Information System Security Managers (ISSMs), Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), and other analysts in STIG implementation, vulnerability reviews (e.g., IAVM advisories), and endpoint analysis
- Provides expertise in tools such as Splunk, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) systems is leveraged to detect and respond to threats, while supporting operations and maintenance of cybersecurity capabilities
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems or related field
- 10+ years of cybersecurity or IT security operations experience
- Expertise in threat hunting SIEM tools, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management
- Strong understanding of RMF, NIST 800-53, DoD STIGs, and security auditing
Desired:
- Master’s degree in related field
- Scripting or automation experience
- Experience with DoD cybersecurity audits and inspections
- Understanding of cloud security in DoD environments
- CISSP, CISM or equivalent
Clearance:
- TS/SCI clearance required
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner
- CySA+
- Certified Incident Handler
