The Department of Business Services at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for a Print Production Manager. Print Production Managers at a higher learning institution oversee the division's daily operations and provide supervision to staff. They manage division activities, including the operations of multiple, full-service copy centers, and user-operated satellite copier/printers, which provide a variety of digital document network services, an extensive fee-based laser printing system, traditional xerographic copying, and microfilm services. Print Production Managers select, procure, operate, and maintain copiers and printers. They provide direct supervision to production and support staff and coordinate accounting with departmental business office. Goals are achieved independently and are established in coordination with the Senior Director of Print Services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision to production staff and coordinate production scheduling and resources daily.
- Ensure efficient workflow processes to optimize production and ensure timely delivery of print materials.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and identify opportunities for workflow improvement.
- Enforce quality control procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards in all printed materials.
- Ensure that printing equipment is well maintained, and that staff follows safety protocols.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
- Implement and manage workflow software/tools to enhance productivity.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous learning and skill development.
- Implement and maintain excellent customer service standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
- At least four years printing management experience required
- Valid Virginia driver's license required
Anticipated Hiring Range: $69,000 - $87,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt level, benefited position. For more information on the benefits at UVA, visit hr.virginia.edu/benefits.
