Job Description
Chromalloy is looking for a passionate and skilled Welding Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the management and development of the global Community of Practice (CoP) within the discipline of Welding. Be part of the future of manufacturing by taking your expert-level knowledge of welding techniques into the digital age!
- Lead and develop our global Community of Practice (CoP) in welding, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Provide technical and managerial oversight, collaborating with local site leadership, regional management, and global teams.
- Support the development of technology-focused projects from inception to production, leveraging your welding expertise.
- Develop innovative solutions, integrate technical expertise, and foster a culture of innovation to enhance Chromalloy's performance.
- Build a global network of experts, facilitating the delivery of best practices, technical training, and rapid problem resolution.
Work Location
The preferred work location for this role is at our Manufacturing Center of Excellence site in Oldsmar, FL. Other locations may be considered based on candidate qualifications and willingness to regularly travel to Oldsmar and other locations as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or other directly relevant technical discipline.
- 10+ years’ experience guiding a distributed technical team in aerospace or industrial gas turbine engine superalloy welding.
- Knowledge of automation and robotic welding.
- Breadth of experience and knowledge across multiple welding styles, particularly TIG/GTAW and electron-beam welding (EBW).
- Advanced knowledge of welding technology as well as practical hands-on experience in welding operations.
- This position is not currently available for work visa sponsorship, transfer, or future renewal.
