Delivery Driver Trainer

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Delivery Trainer is to be the primary trainer for newly hired or placed delivery drivers. The Delivery Trainer will on occasion serve as backup to deliver, merchandise, and service accounts in any route. The Delivery Trainer will promote a safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent Caffey Distributing Company/Carolina Premium Beverage in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.

• Assist Delivery Manager and Area Delivery Managers in promotion of safe work practices to include frequent behavior-based safety observations.

• Confer with Area Delivery Managers to resolve customer problems, opportunities, competitive activity in your market, and potential overage situations.

• Attend all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.

• Adhere to dress code, including safety “non-negotiables,” and be properly groomed at all times.

• Obey all Federal, State, and local laws.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

TRAINING:

• Primary responsibility, under supervision of ADM, for training new delivery drivers.

• Provides instructional training and assessment/certification support for delivery positions.

• Serve as a delivery liaison for the Training team.

• Supports the development and administration of various training programs, including but not limited to the Certified Trainer Program.

• Coordinates training programs with department representatives and communicates to attendees.

• Conducts refresher training for delivery drivers upon request or due to performance issues.

• Participates in the development or improvement of standard operating procedures.

• Maintains required records and assures operator compliance.

• Develops high level of proficiency in all delivery processes and procedures.

• Be a subject matter expert on all delivery processes and equipment `

• Assist with all other delivery training duties as needed to ensure completion and compliance.

Other Duties:

• Is familiar with routes in all areas and departments to ensure flexibility and route coverage.

• Is familiar with all types of delivery equipment, including, but not limited to pallet jacks, dock and dock-leveler, hand trucks, trucks and trailers.

• Maintain a friendly, working relationship with the Manager on each account on all routes in assigned area.

• Listen to and resolve service complaints.

• Prepare invoice, collect payment from customers and record transactions on customer receipt.

• Check in product with Store Manager, following store policy.

• Restock displays, coolers, and cold box with new product, maintain product rotation in backroom, cooler, and on displays

• Responsible for adhering to Overage Beer Policy.

• Clean inside of truck, trailer bays, and vans. Perform routine maintenance on trucks and comply with all FMCSR, state, and local laws and regulations.

• Maintain safe driving record and comply with company driving policy.

• Check in with office daily and follow-up on messages and email promptly.

• Maintain confidentiality of sales trends and history of accounts.
