The Opportunity:
As a Warehouse Attendant, you'll be an essential part of our Maintenance Team, reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager. You will assist with the Maintenance and Purchasing departments in tracking, organizing, ordering and maintaining the maintenance equipment, parts and tools. This role is a full-time permanent position working Monday-Friday.
What you will do as a Warehouse Attendant:
- Work closely with the Purchasing Manager and Maintenance Planner to ensure our mill is always stocked with necessary supplies. You'll be the go-to person for making sure we never run out of essential items.
- Keep our parts room and work areas clean, organized, and safe. Your attention to detail will help maintain an efficient workspace.
- Handle administration of inventory purchase orders, requisitions, and transfers. You’ll also manage inventory counts as needed, ensuring accuracy and availability.
- Issue weigh bills, send requisitions for pricing, and coordinate shipping of materials. You'll also be responsible for daily filing of maintenance and purchasing documentation.
- Provide additional administrative support to the maintenance team and cover for the Purchasing Manager when they're away.
Experience and skills that will help you stand out:
- 2-5 years in an industrial setting, preferably in a maintenance environment. Previous experience as a parts person or buyer is a big plus!
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. You should also be comfortable learning new programs.
- Exceptionally organized and courteous.
- You should be able to work both independently and as part of multiple teams.
- A valid driver’s license is necessary for this role.
- You should be able to read, analyze, and interpret various documents, including business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Strong writing skills for reports, correspondence, and manuals are essential. You'll also need to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
- You'll need to be good at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. The ability to interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables is key.
- You should be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities, such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, are needed.
