Senior Software Developer in Test

8x8 is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer in Test who is passionate about delivering quality through test automation and test process management for microservices and cares deeply about delivering value to end-users as quickly and safely as possible.
The candidate will contribute to an existing set of tests for microservices that together build a platform-level recording and storage solution used by most of the 8x8 products.

Responsibilities:

• Get familiar with the product and business knowledge
• Take part in all application development life cycle phases, according to the agreed Test Strategy
• Help coordinate the testing activities/team, clarify the product-related unknowns, and stay in touch with the project stakeholders at all times
• Test and certify features for releases
• Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
• Troubleshoot, analyze and isolate defects and report them to an issue and project tracking software
• Plan, write, execute, and refactor manual and automated test cases
• Perform end-to-end testing around the applications under test (system testing)
• Implement, run and analyze performance tests (load, stress, and soak) on the critical components
• Perform code reviews and address code for review

Qualifications:

• Good expertise in Quality Assurance terms, standards, strategies, and procedures
• Good expertise in back-end (service level/API) testing
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns in test automation (UI, API, Performance, E2E)
• Proven experience with building or contributing to test automation frameworks (back-end and front-end)
• Skill for writing reusable Java code using testing frameworks such as REST Assured, JUnit,  Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, etc.
• Good Java knowledge  (or any other object-oriented programming language), with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
• Clean Code Evangelist
• Relevant Performance testing experience
• Familiar with Postman, Insomnia, or any other API testing tool
• Excellent organizational abilities and good self-management skills
• Team player, self-motivated, eager to learn, and result-oriented
• Outstanding communication skills (English)
• Proactive, problem solver, independent
