We have an opening for a Master Tech in our Production Facility in Goleta, California, that is involved in the packaging of IR detectors for high reliability space, military and commercial applications. You will train to become a skilled electro-mechanical technician in a variety of processes as assigned by management. You will be working with cryoprobe testing and will be familiar with cryogenics. Must be comfortable working in a rotational environment in between variety of different test labs. You will be conducting final acceptance test, reviewing data and analyze specific task to determine paths forwards. In some cases there will be opportunities to train in a variety of other labs such as environmental labs and uncooled lab to conduct specific tests.
What You Will Do
Conduct tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
Review field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment to engineering.
May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
Perform professional work regularly across multiple Manufacturing disciplines
Rigorous attention to detail reading and following production paperwork and work instructions.
Must wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strictly follow all safety related processes, procedures and protocols.
Prepare daily status reports at the end of the shift.
Lead in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of technical/business support employees.
Must be able to make decisions regarding test issues in a timely manner and report to management if needed.
This is a 2nd shift position on site in Goleta CA.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
Experience using general lab equipment like meters, power supplies, and small hand-held tools (tweezers, screw drivers, etc.).
A minimum of 1 year experience in a cryogenics environment
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Soldering certifications
Knowledge of IPC-A-620 Wire and Cable Requirements & J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 Soldering Requirements
Experience in building harnesses
Experience with David/Talon test software
