Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer. This position will be located in Location(s): Colorado Springs, CO, Roy, UT or Bellevue, NE and will support the Sentinel program.
The successful candidate will be a motivated software developer who is comfortable with C/C++, GUI and multi-tier programming. They are able to use model-based engineering to design and develop software products. They document, test and debug software products. They must be able to work and collaborate with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment to meet critical milestones. They ensure program mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met. They understand and can develop in a continuous integration tool chain environment meeting technical and compliance requirements.
What you will get to do, specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
• Derive and allocate requirements into detailed design
• Designs, develops and tests displays, controls and functionality
• Collaborates with Systems and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are met
• Performs software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best practices
• Performs code quality management and corrects defects
• Coordinates with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression tests once defects are corrected
Candidate should have:
• Previous practical experience bridging requirements into software design and implementation including active work in DOORs and architecture models through detailed design documentation and into code
• Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, or GitLab
• Experience working on cross-function Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery
• Experience with C/C++ development
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
• Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git, Mercurial)
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework – SAFe for Lean Enterprises

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

• Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
• US Citizenship with Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
