Job Summary
Avantor is looking for a dedicated and motivated Administrative Assistant to support a medium to large team or a senior level manager. Under increasingly limited supervision, they perform a wide variety of administrative functions related to the production, receiving, shipping, and inventory of specialty silicone products to ensures timeliness and accuracy in applicable tasks.
This full-time, direct hire opportunity is located at our Bakersfield, CA facility. The team
Avantor’s Biomaterials and Operations team is a member of our NuSil Technology business unit. This particular team supports accuracy of product shipping and receiving.
Work Schedule: 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
What we’re looking for
- Education: One year certificate from college or technical school, , or equivalent combination of education AND experience a must.
- Experience: one to two years related experience and/or training. MS WORD/EXCEL/POWER POINT, clerical typing (at least 45WPM), use of computer keyboard and 10-key calculators experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of process production activities in a chemical or mechanical manufacturing environment preferred
- Prior experience at NuSil a plus
How you will thrive and create an impact
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support by conducting research, preparing reports, and handling requests for information.
- May create and/or track department employee records and established record keeping systems using paper forms and computerized programs. Works on special projects and/or spreadsheets as required.
- Will make well-grounded decisions and assessments.
- Assists with and/or maintains materials labeling program, company inventory systems and company production scheduling report and assists with technical writing and Document Control Requests as needed.
- Collaborates with other departments to achieve production goals and product shipment requirements. Works closely with the MRP and QA groups to coordinate manufacturing and testing of materials & documentation.
- May maintain control of area inventory by coordinating cycle counting, verifying accuracy of inventory and correcting issues and perform data entry tasks. Research documentation within company quality system programs.
- Responsible for maintaining quality within the scope of the job description and ensures that all manufacturing and packaging paperwork is completed accurately. Review process reproducibility trends of applicable products and applying that knowledge to improve processes and or products.
- Supports multiple departments as required.

Pay Transparency:
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is
$34,800.00 - $58,000.00Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
