A Brief Overview
The therapist is learning and incorporating the mission statement and standards of behavior of his/her hospital or care facility. This therapist performs basic competencies within orientation and provides satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.
What You Will Do
- Mechanical ventilation
- Medicated aerosol delivery
- Airway clearance therapy
- Patient monitoring
- Oxygen and humidity therapy
- Special procedures (CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, transport, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory (Required) or
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory (Required)
Work Experience
- At least one year of Respiratory Therapy is preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
- Current RCP Ohio License granted by the Ohio Medical Board (Required)
- Being a member of the AARC is strongly recommended.
Position Details
At least one year of experience is preferred. Previous work in a hospital is also preferred. The position is for 16 hours per week: (2) 8 hour weekday shifts (1 which will be scheduled based on business needs) plus every other weekend. There are also required holidays: one winter and on
