Institution and Role

The Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Finance at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, beginning Fall 2026.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in investments, portfolio management, and security analysis.
- Serve as faculty leader for the Student-Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), guiding students as they manage over $2.5 million in assets.
- Maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) status through peer-reviewed research in investments, portfolio management, or related areas.
- Advise and mentor finance majors, supporting professional and ethical development.
- Actively promote the finance program internally and externally.
- Participate in service activities, including departmental and school-level committee work.

Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Finance (AACSB-accredited institution; ABD considered).
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research in investments/portfolio management.


Preferred

CFA designation, professional investment management experience, or a research record in investments/asset pricing/security analysis.
