Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
The Mgr., Research Projects serves as project manager for clinical research studies, including but not limited to assisting in the development of clinical research study and recruitment goals; supervising a team of clinical research staff including nurses and coordinators; communication of performance expectations; conducting performance evaluations; and monitors qualify assurance standards, programs, and procedures within the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement the VICC Clinical Research Quality and Education program

  • Conduct on-boarding education and training for all new and current VICC Clinical Trials staff
  • Develop and implement a role-specific training program for all clinical research staff conducting cancer-relevant research
  • Develop and maintain a robust portfolio of clinical research training and education materials including virtual learning modules, handbooks and reference guides and a dedicated website presence on vicc.org

Oversee and manage the VICC Clinical Trials Office Quality Assurance team

  • Create and update study-specific eligibility forms for new studies and amendments
  • Perform second review of patient-specific eligibility packets
  • Support and guide CTO staff in conducting process improvement projects

Oversee and manage the VICC Clinical Trials Office Beacon Translator Team

  • Assist Coordinating Center with protocol development related to drugs and assessments
  • Initiate and oversee build of beacon plans for new studies and amendments
  • Validate Beacon plans after build for new studies and amendments

Other duties as assigned

  • Assist Coordinating Center with protocol development related to drugs and assessments
  • Oversee and manage the VICC Clinical Trials Apprenticeship program
  • Serve as the clinical research liaison with the VICC Cancer Research, Training and Education office
