This role is responsible for processing and maintaining linen to meet customer standards, ensuring high-quality sorting, washing, drying, and ironing. They support team efficiency by assisting with linen processing, adhering to safety protocols, and achieving performance targets while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the workplace.
Responsibilities of the role are:
Linen Processing
• Ensure high-quality sorting, washing, drying, folding, and mending of linen to meet customer expectations.
• Operate automated and manual ironing machines effectively, ensuring proper feeding, folding, strapping, and equipment preparation.
• Utilise all laundry cleaning equipment following established procedures and guidelines for optimal results.
Team Support
• Assist colleagues to ensure efficient linen processing within specified timeframes, fostering teamwork and productivity.
• Collaborate with Laundry Supervisor and Laundry Team Leader to identify and report issues promptly, minimising risks related to health, safety, environment, and quality.
Performance and Compliance
• Maintain and improve accuracy in reconciling customer order dockets with dispatched linen, enhancing operational efficiency.
• Achieve key performance indicators (KPI’s) including response times, customer satisfaction, and units processed per hour.
Operational Excellence
• Aid Laundry Supervisor in trolley collection and distribution, contributing to smooth logistics operations.
• Adhere to operational requirements of Bundle Star and RITEQ System, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.
• Practice strict hygiene and conduct routine housekeeping to uphold cleanliness standards and minimise workplace hazards.
• Attend and actively participate in toolbox meetings to enhance team communication and operational effectiveness.
Skills and Experience
1. Be able to work in a fast paced, repetitive, and high-pressure environment.
2. Be able to apply OH&S management methods, techniques, and processes, to report any unsafe practices or hazards.
3. Be reliable and able to work across a Monday to Saturday roster and perform a variety of job tasks and duties.
4. Have excellent organisational, time, and priority management skills to achieve set objectives within timeframes for self and others.
5. Be able to develop constructive, cooperative and respectful working relationships with team members to achieve team KPI’s.
6. Be able to support the company goals and directives for environmental sustainability within the scope of own role.
7. Be able to support the company’s commitment to continuous quality improvement within the scope of own role.
