Job Summary
Summary: The Restaurant Server Assistant is responsible for helping servers deliver food and beverage items from the kitchen to the guests. In this position, the server assistant should have an understanding of the content of the menu and ensures that food is delivered in a timely fashion. The server should understand and follow food safety and sanitation guidelines and help with the execution of area setup and breakdown. The assistant supports the server in all job functions..
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures all food and beverage is properly delivered and/or stored.
- Knowledgeable on all menu offerings.
- Follows set up and break down processes efficiently.
- Understands all event paperwork and reports.
- Establishes rapport with guests and understands suggestive and upselling techniques.
- Adheres to location appearance guidelines.
- Acts with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
- Employs good safety and sanitation practices.
- Follows responsible alcohol service policies.
- Understands the importance of maintaining equipment and executes accordingly.
- Thoroughly completes all event set-up and breakdown responsibilities within timelines provided.
- Performs post event product inventory and restocks as needed.
- Helps fellow employees whenever necessary.
- Stand for long periods of time and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.
- Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods throughout the day.
- Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Move from sitting to standing position easily and quickly.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a desire to gain experience and work in the foodservice or hospitality industry. An outgoing personality is preferred.
