The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.
The Work You Will Do:
This position is located within the Bureau of Public Engagement of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This in-office position is a part of the criminal referral section and is responsible for supervising investigators who analyze and investigate for alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board Rules regulated by the Department.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead, direct and conduct investigates into alleged criminal violations of federal, state and local laws by condominium associations, board members, and other condominium stakeholder working to help ensure public safety.
- Answer inquiries from the public relating to each of the Division’s program areas.
- Provide appropriate motivation and training to employees and meet with staff regularly individually and in staff meetings.
- Evaluate employees through established evaluation criteria and ensure the pre-established criteria are met.
- Review incoming constituent complaints received and determine the appropriate assignment of cases to staff and field office supervisors.
- Tracks and monitors cases assigned to staff and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare and review investigative reports for accuracy and provide feedback and training.
- Provides timely and professional written and telephone responses to complaints and inquiries from the public concerning issues regulated by the Division’s program areas.
- Maintains a wide range of general knowledge of Department and other agencies’ function, and maintain professional relationships with external partners.
- Consult with supervisor to determine areas of concern and possible solutions to problems.
- Conducts interviewing, hiring and training of new staff.
