Reports to: Public Works Support Manager 

Salary range:  $1,850 - $2,174 (semi-monthly) 

FLSA Status: non-exempt, hourly 

Position closes: open until filled

    

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the minimum to mid-point of the salary range for the role. Hiring at the mid-point of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs clerical office functions for administration and operations employees for the department of Public Works and all divisions.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities listed below are central to the job and the employee must be able to perform each function satisfactorily. (1) Responsible for data entry into Maintenance Management System; track and update data to maintain and ensure accurate records; run monthly reports.


(2) Perform clerical tasks such as typing, transcription, telephones, copying, faxing, record keeping, and file maintenance.


(3) Serve as liaison with public/customers, contractors, inspectors and governmental officials as necessary.

 

(4) Issue, prepare, monitor and maintain receivable billings, for all divisions of Public Works, for right-of-way and transport permits; including collection and filing of permits. 

 

(5) Purchasing, process purchase orders, vouchers and invoices including the justification of vendor statements; reviews month-end reports of expenditure, budget reconciliation.


(6) Maintain and monitor Driver Qualification Files for all Department of Public Works employees who hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL). 


(7) Maintain various volunteer programs for Public Works, including application preparation, yearly volunteer updates, coordinate pick-up and disposal of waste and maintain inventory.  


(8) Monitor and coordinate conference room and fleet vehicle rentals. 


(9) Monitor central inventory for administration.


(10) Report to UNCC all locates for the entire public works department.


(11) Coordinate annual events as needed.
