Job Description
What is Viral Clearance?
Biopharmaceutical products are susceptible to contamination from virus. Viral clearance studies are an important step performed to evaluate the capability of the manufacturing process to remove and/or inactivate virus. Since every product is different, each product has a different purification process, and therefore each viral clearance study is unique!
Employee Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of analyses (routine and non-routine) primarily but not limited to the molecular, cell biology, and virology test areas of Biopharmaceutical Services, including AKTA, cell culturing, plaque assays, protein purification, anion exchange (AEX), cation exchange (CEX), and virus production.
- Review and evaluate raw data for acceptability
- Set up and validate new analytical or related processes used by the department
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate would possess:
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, or other related degree concentration
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday - Friday 8:00pm - 5:00pm. Candidates within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply.
