Automated Mail Processor

Equipment includes Bell & Howell inserting equipment and Videojet Inkjet equipment.  In addition, this position will assist with inserting and mailing product/reports to the Stores and Reps on a weekly basis.
Automated mail operations will include utilizing automated equipment as well as other manual processes to facilitate the insertion, processing, and mailing of correspondence for the Stores Division of Sherwin-Williams. This position has the responsibility of operating Bell & Howell high-speed insertion and mail equipment, strapping equipment for outgoing postal trays, Pitney-Bowes metering machines, as well as heavy-duty staplers, cutters and other machinery as a particular job mandates. This position ensures that all USPS mail processing is performed in an accurate and timely manner with all USPS delivery documentation completed within postal service standards.  As workloads dictate, this position will also assist other areas within the Print & Mail Center.

• Must be able to understand, set-up and operate (2) Bell & Howell Mailstar 500 inserters, (1) Bell & Howell Mailstar 350 inserter, (1) Bell & Howell 400 inserter.
• Must be able to understand, set-up, operate, and make minor adjustments and or repairs to all Mail Center equipment.
• Properly prepare all documents for various insertion jobs for delivery to the USPS in accordance with all operating schedules and procedures.
• Properly fill, tag, and secure all postal trays for delivery.
• Maintain and adhere to all current USPS rules and regulations as they apply to Mail Center processing.
• Execute all quality assurance and control procedures including, but not limited to, verification of postal reports to that of production runs.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on inserting and strapping equipment.
• Notify Senior Operators/Supervisor of problems or potential problems as they occur.

Formal Education & Certification
• High school graduate

Knowledge & Experience
• Knowledge of Intelligent Inserting equipment.
• Mechanical abilities to perform basic adjustments or repairs to the equipment.

• Able to perform the above listed essential duties in a satisfactory manner.
• Must be able to work under the pressure of meeting weekly and monthly mail closing schedules and deadlines.
• Must be quality conscious and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physically capable of lifting a minimum of at least 40 lb. boxes of paper to load printers.
• Capable of standing and being on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Physically capable of loading and being able to push a flat-bed weighing 100-125 lbs. to a staging area for courier pick-up.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel and management.
