THE ROLE

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to deliver engaging and efficacious K-14 learning solutions for schools and districts. The primary focus of this role is managing product capabilities that help scale Khan Academy for Districts and specifically address the needs of district administrators in administering the product effectively for their district classrooms.

With the recent launch of Khanmigo and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a technology, this role will help harness the power of AI to deliver the product capabilities where applicable.

The Product Manager will:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally on delivery to create the desired user experience specifically for:
    • Rostering & Operations - this is done by IT teams at the district, not instructional teams
    • Administrator tasks - Admins do a lot of things to drive instruction. e.g. instructional coaching that required academic data to inform the session, instructional observations, analysis of instructional data to inform decisions (PL, core curriculum selection) etc.
  • Work in collaboration with other PMs to ensure that District needs are addressed across various product teams, and alignment of user experience across district admins, teachers and learners.
  • Product execution (including requirements elaboration, communication, alignment, research, roadmap ownership, managing trade-offs) that enables the team to have rapid iterations of build-measure-learn while ensuring stability of the enterprise product.
  • Ownership of outcomes related to Districts product and district admin experience.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative feedback to develop key user insights and drive product improvements by being the voice of district admins.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Deep passion for what makes a great educational technology as well as a desire to help Khan Academy bring a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere.
  • 7+ years experience in product management for edtech (especially K-12).
  • Experience working with edtech integrations (LMS systems, etc) is a plus.
  • Proven history of managing and shipping successful software products with cross-functional teams, at scale, including outside U.S. to rest of world
  • Experience designing & building a platform with desktop, mobile, and accessibility in mind.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate a vision and strategy
  • Experience working closely with engineers and designers on technical, architectural problems
