Position Overview

Responsibilities:

Communicate with Scheduling, Drivers and lift truck operators to ensure yarn is unloaded and stored properly.

Prioritize work as directed by Team Manager and Scheduling.

Identify and help resolve issues.

Communicate with on-coming shift to ensure smooth transition.

Communicate with team on daily and weekly performance (department goals). Operate and lift truck and perform LTO duties as needed.

Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and timely by all LTOs.

Unload packaged yarn freight from inbound shipments to storage location(s) within the warehouse.

Move materials from storage locations to Work in Progress (WIP) areas or other assigned areas.
Daily completion of lift truck inspection sheets.

Remove, collect and properly dispose of shipping materials including pallets, straps, cardboard, and bolsters.

Strap and package finished goods and work in process (WIP) as needed.

Assist with performing inventory cycle counts as needed.

Changing lift truck or other Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) batteries and gas tanks as needed.

Assist in keeping the entire facility clean.

Maintain a neat and orderly work space.

Serve as a member of a team, attend and actively participate in meetings (could be before or after shift) and work toward team goals.

Participate in team building activities as planned.

Provide respectful feedback to team members as necessary.

Expected to ‘flow to work’ to service customers and business needs.

Gain and maintain all necessary skills to perform jobs as assigned.

Attend all training classes as scheduled for individual and team development. Safely complete other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements: 

Walking up and down stairs is part of the requirements for this position.

This position will require standing, heavy and/or repeated lifting, bending, stooping, reaching overhead or crawling for long periods of time Verbally communicate in English with team members about team needs and daily/weekly goals; participate in team meetings, provide feedback and contribute to team’s goals. Pass appropriate vision test, including depth perception.

Pass color blindness test.

Use computer systems and software as needed for the position.

Safely operate a lift truck once trained.

Withstand changes in temperature and humidity.

Complete yearly LTO recertification program.

Comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.  

Preferred: Previous experience as a Lead or served in a leadership role
