Essential Functions

• Under general supervision, serves as a Storekeeper for the Bureau of Buildings & Grounds for the Department of Agriculture.
• Ensures quantity and quality of all receivables through accurate and timely record keeping.
• Assists in the movement and delivery of Department equipment and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned which are within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years high school.
• Requires one-year experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefers experience preparing purchase requisitions.
• Prefers experience with preparing stock records and reports.
• Prefers experience with determining quality of goods against prescribed specifications.

Conditions of Employment

• Requires completion of a name-based background screening and self-disclosure of criminal history.
• Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
• This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(d)). Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
