Assures quality documentation and complete reporting in the medical record by accurately assembling all Home Health patient and bereavement charts into specified order and analyzing those charts for any deficiencies. To effectively assure that all records meet Federal, State and Medicaid regulations for certification and licensure and effectively facilitates billing in a timely manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High school graduate or GED.

2. Valid driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE:

1. One (1) year of experience in clerical position

1. Assists with data entry in computer system; keeps records of plans of care/oasis forms that have been transmitted. 

2. Enters and transmits all Oasis Data.

3. Receives telephone calls, taking messages when appropriate and following through as needed.

4. Sorts mail, insuring that urgent correspondence and time dated material is prioritized as needed.

5. Maintains agency manuals, typing and collecting all revisions as needed.

6. Assists with maintenance of supplies, both office and medical, and orders when appropriate.

7. Assists with data entry of supplies used per patient as needed.

8. Works with answering service to notify of on-call schedule/changes to call schedule.

9. Takes responsibility for rolling/unrolling agency phones daily, as required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of medical terminology

2. Basic computer skills necessary

3. Must be capable of handling information of a confidential nature.

4. Must have the ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions, and must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis

5. Must have the ability to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures

6. Must have effective reading and comprehensive skills

7. Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal

8. Must have ability to prioritize tasks

9. Must have independent decision-making ability

10. Must have basic math skills

11. Must have ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm, professional manner.

12. Must be capable of using computers to input and retrieve information.
